DEPARTMENT    OF   INFORMATION     TECHNOLOGY
              

The department   offers   a four-year   course leading   to the   bachelor of   technology   degree in information technology . with  the  information  technology  field on  the  fast track  there is no dearth  of  employment of   opportunities  and  hence  this is one of the most   sought  after courses  today. The  department  is  equipped with extensive computing  facilities  and  high speed internet connectivity. The highly focused  facilities   are post graduates and doctorates  with  specialized  knowledge in network  design  and   security, multimedia, data mining  and  ware housing   and  internet  programming.

The department has well equipped laboratories for programming languages, relational database management system, multimedia, networking and internet applications.  The department has been organizing  symposia and guest lectures. The final year student project have attracted attention from Anna university. One such is the optical reader used Tamil language computing for which a patent  is being sought .  the department is  already  designing  several   out  reach  programs  for  rural  areas  including  computer training for rural school  students, teachers, police personnel in the district and electricity department of employees of local divisions.

The  department  has well furnished and equipped lab with 120 computers with UNIX servers  centrally  connected to all system .our dept also uses a high speed internet lab with  256 kbps  leased   link connected across 30 systems.
 INTEAS, THE ASSOCIATION OF AN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY   department has been successful since 2001 and provides opportunities for students to get involved in various technical and co-curricular activities. TECHZINO 09-too was conducted by INTEAS with various technical events like paper presentation, short film making and photography. Cash prizes were given as first, second and third prizes respectively for each technical sessions.

Entrepreneurship development cell and counseling cells for boys and girls functioning in our department to raiser the mind of our students to high. There are many achievements done by our students. The achievements and activities are achieved only by the great support of our management.
