Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
The department offers a four-year course leading to the Bachelor degree in Electronics and Communication. With electronics touching upon every aspect of human existence today, this course is extremely popular and attracting the best of talent.
Keeping this growing demand in mind, the intake has been proposed for enhancement to 120 this year. The course exposes students to the fundamental areas of basic Electronics, Communication, Microprocessor, and Signal processing. The department has state of the art laboratories in Electron devices and circuits, Microprocessor, Linear Integrated Circuits, Digital signal processing, VLSI, Microwave and Fiber optics and Networking Computing facilities include the Matlab 7.0, Xilinx 9.2, PSPICE package and code compressor studio.
Students are involved in a number of real time projects during their third and fourth year of study. An automatic weather station has been setup on the campus in association with ISRO. The automated weather monitoring system (AWS) continuously measures various real time meteorological parameters and transmits the data to ISRO headquarters. The department forging to develop a center for excellence in Photonics and information processing.
The department has young and dynamic faculty with specialization in relevant areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The course offers the flexibility to the graduates to choose from a wide range of career options in Industry, Software, Research and Development and also in the government organization. With the fast track growth of the software industry, the service sector also offers exciting opportunities to the graduates from the department.
