| The Department of Industrial Biotechnology at SAACE strives to give quality education to its students, and provides excellent career development prospects to its faculty, research and technical staff. Ranked 4th among the engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu state in Industrial Biotechnology, this department is endowed with a very distinguished faculty. |

| The department has been primarily developed in consonance with the facilities already available in the college. Plant tissue culture was primarily from NCL and botany departments. Biochemical engineering was developed also with NCL. Animal tissue culture was originally with NFATCC, now known as NCCS. Thus, the main thrust of the facilities was based on the faculty available within the department. It was primarily quantitation oriented and biochemistry-oriented. Thus, spectroscopy could be developed in terms of kinetics up to fast kinetics. |
